Scripts … set in stone?!
Producers, you know that once a script has been signed off, it NEVER changes just before or during a voiceover session ... ever!!
But what if the script DOES need a tweak?
- Does it fill you with horror and dread?
- How easy do you find it having those conversations, sometimes in front of a client, engineer and voice talent ... all while the clock is ticking?
- Maybe the script is in English, but that's not your first language?
Last week, I was in a live session (5 people on the call) and heard those familiar words:
"has everyone got the latest version of the script?"
Me: "the one I've got says Version 4."
LONG PAUSE! (surprise, surprise that version was out of date!)
The thing is: for me, it does not matter at all. Change it whenever you like! I worked in broadcast news for almost 15 years - re-writing scripts at the last minute became totally second nature.
I have some simple steps to help the process, when this happens.
Want to know more? Feel free to book a call, or send me a direct message.
In the meantime, good luck with whatever script version you're working on today! Hope it goes smoothly.
